Young Families
Please Note our new email address: YoungFamilies@princeofpeace-hoover.org
We are so glad you have visited our page and hope you will consider
joining us!
Our Mission:
To strengthen our relationships with God, our spouses, and within
our families through the study of God’s word and fellowship with one
another with the belief that strong Christian marriages foster
strong Christian families.
Who are we?
We are a recently formed group that has grown out of the Newly
Married group. Over the past four years, our group has grown with
new couples joining and babies being born, and we are not nearly as
newly married as we once were.
Our group is comprised of those couples that are no longer newly
married and are facing all of the exciting changes and challenges
that couples encounter as their marriage reaches a new phase. The
ministry of the Newly Married group will continue to serve those in
the parish who have recently wed.
What do we do?
It may be easier to answer the question, “What don’t we do?” Our
monthly social events range from the Shakespeare Festival to the
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and St. Patrick’s Day outings to
Christmas parties. There is something for everyone, and kids are
welcome at almost all of our functions!
We also meet each Wednesday night at 6:00 for dinner at the church
after which we gather to discuss a variety of spiritually related
works such as Twelve Ordinary Men by John MacArthur, which focuses
on the lives of the twelve apostles, and If You Want to Walk on
Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat by John Ortberg, which
encourages us to identify and conquer the forces in our lives
keeping us from full union with God.
How can I join?
Just drop in on any of our events. They are published in the weekly
church bulletin and on this page. Feel free to give us a call or
send us an email if you have any questions or would like to learn
more about the Young Families Group.
